Description
Paneer Pakora is a classic North Indian tea-time snack made by dipping cubes of paneer in a seasoned gram flour batter and deep-frying them until golden and crispy. Often served with green chutney or sweet tamarind sauce, this snack is popular across homes and street stalls in Punjab and has found its way into South Indian cafés and fusion eateries.
The paneer is cut into cubes or stuffed with green chutney, then coated in a spiced batter made with besan, rice flour, ajwain, red chili powder, and turmeric. It is deep-fried until the crust turns golden and crisp, while the inside remains soft and creamy. Some variations include a double-fry method for extra crunch or a sprinkle of chaat masala on top.
Paneer Pakora remains a go-to monsoon snack in Delhi, Amritsar, and Bengaluru and continues to be a vegetarian favorite in Indian kitchens across Mississauga, Brampton, and Scarborough.
