Tasks/Job Duties:
• Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities for various restaurant
locations
• Meet and consult with clients regarding catering and meal planning for weddings,
banquets and speciality functions
• Menu planning independently and with consultation from chefs and cooks
• Research and implement traditional culinary techniques and cooking methods
• Re-create and oversee the production of a variety of traditional South Indian dishes
• Ensure food meets quality and safety standards
• Estimate food requirements and food costs
• Order inventory and food for various restaurant locations
• Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, and other chefs and cooks
• Providing culinary training and guidance to sous-chefs, specialist chefs, and other
chefs and cooks
• Arrange equipment purchases and repairs
• Provide input in recruiting and hiring staff
• May prepare and cook food on a regular basis
